what we do

what we do

We are active in both clinical and research settings.

Special attention is paid to neurodegeneration, an ineluctable process so far, whose several biological mechanisms show similarities that relate neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis to one another. A better knowledge, prevention and correction of these mechanisms could turn “what is inevitable” into “what is potentially treatable”.

Need Institute adopts the basis of Translational Research which, starting from a deep clinical and bio molecular knowledge of neurological patients, translates the results of medical research in everyday clinical practice, in order to improve the patients treatment. The operating approach is interdisciplinary.

Need Institute promotes the creation of a network of expertise composed by doctors, neurobiologists, psychologists, bioengineers and other specialists that by examining their patients clinical, instrumental and biological data studies the possible application of more and more efficient pharmacologic and rehabilitative treatments. A “virtuous cycle” that could lead to important benefits for individuals and community.
